Introducing the Breast Cancer Lingerie Closet and Resource Library For Cancer Patients and Survivors

Save Ourselves and the UC Davis Cancer Center invite you to visit the resource center located within the UC Davis Cancer Center at 4501 X Street.  You'll find a beautiful selection of free gently used lingerie. Our drawers are filled with items such as camis, bras, breast forms and other miscellaneous lingerie items. Donations of gently used lingerie items would also be greatly appreciated.

A resource library is also available and you can choose from any of the free books and publications.

The Resource Center is open between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  For more information,  email soslingeriecloset@save-ourselves.org.  We're looking forward to seeing you.

Free Services from the American Cancer Society (ACS)

ACS has some great services for people recently diagnosed with cancer.  All of the services are available to anyone; there is no requirement that you be low-income.  To access these services, telephone (800) 227-2345.

  • Transportation assistance. ACS will arrange for someone to take you to your treatment or will provide you with gas cards to help pay for your gas, up to a value of $300 per person per fiscal year (their fiscal year started 9/1/2011).

  • Look Good Feel Better program teaches beauty techniques to women in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.   They provide you with free cosmetic kits (valued at approx. $400) and skin care products. Women learn ways to cope with hair loss with the use of wigs, scarves, and other accessories.

  • ACS will provide you with a free wig or will reimburse you up to $75 for a wig that you purchase.

  • The ACS Personal Health Manager Kit is an easy-to-use tool designed to help patients organize and keep track of appointments, medication, test results, insurance, bills, and various other logistical and practical details associated with cancer. The kit’s content can be personalized to provide information and resources which help address the needs of a particular cancer patient or caregiver. It is available in multiple languages and it is free.

  • ACS will help you find a local support group.
