March Speaker:Holistic Integrative Care with Meghan Larivee

Please join Dr. Meghan Larivee for a discussion of natural medicine and the philosophy of holistic integrative care. Dr. Larivee will discuss her role as a naturopathic doctor in the care of individuals who have cancer. She will discuss the ingredients of a powerful super-food smoothie. Those individuals undergoing cancer treatments (chemo, radiation, etc) may find this to be a helpful adjunct to their routine. Most people that drink this smoothie daily tend to tolerate their treatments better and report increase in energy and decrease some of the negative side effects. Dr. Larivee will be opening an extensive question and answer session in order to help attendees address their questions regarding CAM therapies.
Bio: Dr. Meghan Larivee earned a bachelors degree in psychology and environmental biology while completing her pre-medical education at the University of Colorado. Dr. Larivee then received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, as well a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Before becoming a resident at the Institute for Restorative Health, Dr, Larivee received her internship from an integrative cancer clinic where she practiced both Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine.
As an integrative medicine resident at the Institute for Restorative Health, Dr. Larivee practices primary care medicine with an emphasis on women’s health from fertility to menopause. Her other areas of focus include integrative management of chronic diseases such as autoimmune processes and cancer. Dr. Larivee supports her patients who are currently receiving treatment for cancer by strengthening the immune system to both help mitigate side effects of conventional treatments as well as better tolerate the process.
Dr. Larivee offers unique, holistic, individualized care to support the health and well being of her patients. Appreciating the fact that we are all unique, Dr. Larivee values listening to her patients to assure that her recommendations are as diverse as each individual who comes to see her.
When Dr. Larivee isn’t helping patients at IRH, she can be found knee deep in the outdoors; mountain biking, hiking, kite boarding or doing yoga. Dr. Larivee has backpacked in over 30 countries throughout the world and there’s a good chance she’s already planning her next adventure.
